Schuh Care💚
Posted on 1st April 2026
I picked up some handy advice from Schuh on how to keep your shoes looking their best and honestly as someone who always wrecks their shoes after a few months, this is life changing!
First things first, always clean and protect your shoes regularly (and use the right products for the material). Oh, and test anything new on a small hidden area first just in case.
Top tips to remember 👇
- Don’t throw your shoes in the washing machine unless it clearly says you can
- Most shoes aren’t waterproof unless stated
- If they get wet, let them dry naturally (newspaper inside helps them keep their shape)
- Avoid heat (no radiators!)
- Rotate your shoes so your favourites can breathe a bit
- Be careful with dyed leather, some colour transfer can happen
Different materials, different care 👇
Coated leather ✨
If they look a bit marked, a quick rub with your thumb can help, or use a wax to bring them back to life.
Patent 🖤
Just wipe clean with a damp cloth and buff with a dry one to get that shine back!
Suede & nubuck 🤎
These need a bit more care. Use a protector spray and a suede brush to keep them looking good.
Textile 👟
Fabric shoes can be cleaned with foam cleaner, just be gentle with them!
Leather 💧
Treat it like your skin, it needs moisture! Use polish or conditioner to keep it soft and looking fresh, and a protector spray for rain and stains.
Shoe Care Products 🧴✨
Schuh also has some great shoe care products in store that are worth checking out. They recommended things like Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam to keep leather soft and looking fresh, and Crep Protect Protector Spray to help protect your shoes from rain and stains ☔.
For the UGG girlies there’s also UGG Protector Spray, or for delicate fabrics the Crep Protect Eraser which is perfect for keeping suede and looking clean.
